It is stressful when you buy a Kindle book and it does not appear right away. In most cases, the fix is simple: sync your device, remove filters, and confirm the purchase on Amazon.com.
Step 1: Confirm You Have Internet
Before checking anything else, make sure your Kindle is actually online.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is on and connected
- Turn Airplane Mode off in Quick Settings
Step 2: Sync Your Kindle
If the book still is not showing, syncing your Kindle often refreshes your library and brings it in.
- From the Home screen, swipe down to open Quick Settings
- Tap Sync (or Sync and Check for Items)
- Wait a minute, then check your Library again
Step 3: Remove Filters in Your Library
Sometimes the book is already there, but your library view is hiding it. Filters can hide new purchases.
- Go to your Kindle Library
- Switch from Downloaded to All
- Turn off any author/collection filters
- Use the search bar to search the exact title or author
Step 4: Confirm the Purchase on Amazon.com
If the book still does not appear, verify on Amazon that the purchase actually went through and was delivered to the right device.
- Sign into Amazon.com on a browser
- Go to Your Orders and look for the Kindle book transaction
- If the order exists, open Manage Your Content and Devices
- Find the title and deliver it to your Kindle device
If you need help locating your book view, open your Kindle Library and confirm you are viewing All items associated with your account.
While you troubleshoot, you can still enjoy free Kindle books to keep reading without waiting.
